I am fascinated with radio in my childhood. I cannot understand how a small box playing music and reading news. My dad used to tune the radio while doing work in farm or at home. My childhood fascination turned in to curiosity and as soon as I have completed my college degree,I have joined in a Diploma course on Radio communications. I built my first Radio and played my favorite stations on it. I used to listen Shortwave Broadcasting stations like VOA, Radio Netherlands, Deutsche welle etc,. and collected some nice QSL cards from those stations by sending a report on the quality of broadcast. I have learned fluent English and some Japanese language too. Some International broadcasters used to send greeting cards and calendars.
Today I am a TV bug. I watch TV more, than listening to Shortwave. But I have not benefited from TV. Instead I have got concentration defaults and spectacles. I wish to start again my Radio hobby, but I cannot listen to those SW stations any more, since lot of high rise buildings came up in our area. Moreover, almost all shortwave stations turned to internet 24 hours online radio, making my radio obsolete. But I am nostalgic and anyway I am happy to pick up some bits and pieces of English language. I wish the signals will travel to my place again.

Food is critical to the survival of all living beings. Food, clean drinking water and a shelter to live, is considered as basic needs in some countries. Some communities consider food, as God’s gift and offer it to God, before they begin eating.
While to some, food is precious, a lot of food in wealthy and developed countries is being wasted. According to a survey, leftovers of food in pubs and star hotels are a problem to the cleaning staff. It was estimated that the cost of such leftover food is enough to feed a small country for a day. While developed nations have this problem, many underdeveloped and developing countries are facing terrible situation to tackle food rationing. Many countries in sub-Saharan Africa could not provide their citizens with quality food. Some countries even depend upon others such as UN for food. Children in African countries like Sudan, Chad, Somalia, Zimbabwe etc. has high malnutrition as per UN statistics. This condition prevails in all most all countries, to some extent. Malnutrition or lack of food to eat, whatever may be the cause, lots of kids are suffering with various diseases and unfortunately death rate among kids is very high.
This really moved me, to tears. A Nation’s survival depends on future generations. Grooming those kids to confident and civilized citizens, depend heavily on present generations, like us.
Let us take a conscious oath, not to waste the food. And help those, who really need it. When we go to parties or pubs and hotels, do not throw food as leftovers. Instead order as much we can eat, and not more. Help those kids in Africa, to have a plateful of delicious food at least.

Health is really Wealth. When we are healthy we do not need to visit a Doctor!!!:). I mean, we should always try to be healthy. Today more people are suffering from one or more diseases when it was compared to 1950s or even earlier days. This does not mean that the people in those days never suffered a health problem, but the incidence is lower. This may be due to their eating habits and conditions or circumstances then prevailed.
Today, lots of people are suffering from both psychological and physical disorders. Anxiety –Depression at psychological level results in imbalanced diet habits which causes obesity and then to Diabetes, high cholesterol and blood pressure leading to heart problems
Obesity - Diabetes and psychological disorders, not only drain our resources but they can ruin our prospects to be wealthy. Our stamina to work long hours will be impaired and concentration is difficult too.
Let us remedy this situation with a strong oath to lower starch and sugar consumption. Exercise daily for 15minutes. Make it as a habit. Meditation helps to relieve mental anxiety and depression. Maintain personal hygiene. Do not spend watching TV or spend long, precious hours gaming on computer.
Only then we can realize our REAL WEALTH that is HEALTH.

I woke up late today. Reason is, I could not sleep well due to a dream. I always have dreams in sleep, but this one is special. I am driving a SUV in the dream. Cruising at a speed of 90km/h the vehicle suddenly stopped moving. I could not find help, but I walked to my destination at the end, which is some 100kms away.
Usually every dream has its own meaning. For instance if you saw murky water in the dream, it portent some bad event is going to happen. I can’t find the meaning of this dream nor I own that SUV. But I have reached my destination, which seems unreasonable. Immediately out of curiosity I have asked my mum what the dream conveys. She told me that, I will reach my goal though there were some obstacles.
I went to our library and asked the librarian about the books on dreams. He gave me some books by Indian authors and Sigmund Freud’s Interpretation of Dreams. First, I have decided to go through Sigmund Freud’s book. Freud links every dream with an unconscious wish we are trying to fulfill. I never wish to buy that SUV, but I admit, I have a goal to achieve. Whether I achieve d my goal or not, I will post here as and when it happens. Meanwhile can anyone tell me what my dream means?.

High temperature and aches all over the body today.I have visited my family doctor who diagnosed it as Dengue fever and prescribed some medicines.
I have asked him, what causes this fever, which he attributed to some type of mosquitoes. And advised me to take some homeopathic medicine named Eupatorium perfoliatum , instead of usual allopathic medicine.
Later in the day while reading News paper, I have found some formers in North Indian state of Bihar too, victims of mosquitoes and their method of repelling mosquitoes is unique.
Their armory is ‘Elephant dung’ as a mosquito repellent. Instead of using Prallethrin contained liquid solutions the villagers opted elephant dung to use as mosquito repellent. When it’s burnt, the smoke is considered as an instant killer of mosquitoes.
This is really good idea to protect from mosquitoes menace.
But wait …where can we all get that Elephant dung when they are constantly killed for their tusks?.
This reminds me another thing too,, God made all beings to live in coexistence.
Selfish poachers .. are you listening?. Stop killing those beautiful creatures, please.
Hello friends in Africa. You are so lucky at least.
