Feed the needy

Published by koyyalagunta at 10:15 pm under Uncategorized Edit This

Food is critical to the survival of all living beings. Food, clean drinking water and a shelter to live, is considered as basic needs in some countries. Some communities consider food, as God’s gift and offer it to God, before they begin eating.

While to some, food is precious, a lot of food in wealthy and developed countries is being wasted. According to a survey, leftovers of food in pubs and star hotels are a problem to the cleaning staff. It was estimated that the cost of such leftover food is enough to feed a small country for a day. While developed nations have this problem, many underdeveloped and developing countries are facing terrible situation to tackle food rationing. Many countries in sub-Saharan Africa could not provide their citizens with quality food. Some countries even depend upon others such as UN for food. Children in African countries like Sudan, Chad, Somalia, Zimbabwe etc. has high malnutrition as per UN statistics. This condition prevails in all most all countries, to some extent. Malnutrition or lack of food to eat, whatever may be the cause, lots of kids are suffering with various diseases and unfortunately death rate among kids is very high.

This really moved me, to tears. A Nation’s survival depends on future generations. Grooming those kids to confident and civilized citizens, depend heavily on present generations, like us.

Let us take a conscious oath, not to waste the food. And help those, who really need it. When we go to parties or pubs and hotels, do not throw food as leftovers. Instead order as much we can eat, and not more. Help those kids in Africa, to have a plateful of delicious food at least.
