Diabetes - deadly disease
Diabetes prevailed in all parts of the world today. Old or young, age is not a factor here and everyone has to suffer. This is mainly a metabolic disorder. I was told that diabetes is not a disease, but a condition in which blood glucose levels are higher than normal, and due to this condition our body defense mechanism weakens of completely collapse. There said to be no permanent cure for this condition, but preventive measures can be taken to hasten its onset in healthy persons.
World Diabetes day was celebrated recently. There was conferences, messages, speeches etc.. But I really do not know how many people aware of that. My father is diabetic; my mum is in the queue. So is my uncles and aunt. There was no shortage of list. But no one care for world diabetic day! Because, they knew their condition cannot be improved by attending conferences and or listening to speeches. What they required is medication and free medical facility to checkup their blood sugar levels and ofcourse medical insurance.
There is a point in their argument. First they require medical security. Second, they need cheap medication which may be possible if Governments intervene. We are paying taxes for our betterment. Not for spending on international development. Ofcourse there is lot of poverty in Africa, but the Diabetes, making our families proper here. What is the best action, I leave it our Government.
