Meditation-my experiences

Dhyana or Meditation helps to promote inner peace.When we are feeling depressed or worried,Psychologists suggest meditation.Practicing meditation for 10 to 15 minutes daily,not only improves our psychological condition but also gives us peace of mind. Meditation together with Pranayama,strengthens the brain and promotes clear thinking in all activities  of our life.

I started practicing meditation a year ago,and pranayama since August. Meditation combined with pranayama is really a great exercise to the brain. The brain is a complex structure. It needs more oxygen than all other organs of the body. But unfortunately we fail to supply sufficient oxygen to the brain for its proper functioning.

 Pranayama is the technique of breath control. When we stop inhaling and exhaling the breath through nose by closing the nostrils, the air already in the lungs, goes upwards to the brain. This way brain gets more oxygen which is not possible in ordinary course of breathing.  When the brain gets more oxygen more neural currents will be produced, and the practitioner feels more energy. Ever Since I started meditation and pranayama, I feel, I have got more vigor and energy.  Meditation improved my concentration on work at hand.

Consult a Yoga teacher , start practicing meditation and pranayama.
