My Japanese adventure :)
Linguistic skills are added advantage today. Those who know multiple languages can easily land in job, that requires the translation skills, conversational skills. For quiet sometime I am dabbling with Japanese language. Though I am not proficient in speaking the Japanese yet, it is relatively easier to pronounce the sentences, unlike French or Italian.
I got interest in learning Japanese language while listening to NHK Radio Japan English broadcasts. There is segment called “Let’s Learn Japanese” at the weekends. The lessons are designed in such a way that new learners can easily pick up the bits and pieces of language. After some weeks of continuous listening, I am able to pick up the basic vocabulary. Radio Japan kindly provides the listeners with a copy of lessons upon request. Not only this, I have been trying to learn Arabic. Though my mother tongue is Telugu, I have acquired fluency in English speaking.
Language learning requires concentrated and continuous efforts. We cannot speak foreign language in one day. But, unlike learning other subjects, language learning is funny.
Learning something new every day improves our brain power. This helps us to keep active in the later stages of our life. While learning to speak foreign languages activates our creative side of our brain, mathematics improves our logical-reasoning side. Neurotransmitters in the brain function brilliantly while we learn something new every day. Learning to speak foreign language is perfect brain exercise.
Start today. Try to learn some foreign language. Best place to start with, is international short wave broadcasting services. Radio Japan, Deutsche Welle, Radio Cairo, Radio China International etc., broadcast language lessons on weekends. Try them before you decide to go to a learning center.
