What ‘Spirituality’ means to me
Recently I have stumbled on a news paper column about spirituality. Public personalities were welcomed to write their opinions about the column. Spirituality is a recondite subject to me. Though I respect and believe the God and pray him, I cannot understand the term spirituality. Of course I did not tried much to comprehend the subject deeply. Whenever possible I read the scriptures and try my best to follow them with some adjustments.
Gaining spiritual knowledge by simply reading books is not my way. So, one weekend, I have visited a spiritual Guru to shed my ignorance. I asked the master to teach me some spiritual knowledge. He merrily agreed, and asked what I know about God, and what my impression about the life is.
I said, to me the God is an invisible helper. I trust him more than anyone. I can’t able to describe the term life, though. The Guru laughed and said, this is starting point to explore the life.
We can live the life, but can’t express it to anyone’s satisfaction. Everyone has their own meaning to life. If you are a businessman you would like to achieve the greatest financial heights. Similarly, if you are a farmer you wish your farm yield high crops. No one can satisfactorily answer the meaning of life. Therefore everyone seek the God to get answers. In this process they turn spiritual.
Still I can’t understand the spirituality, but I try to follow the instructions given by master. I do meditation regularly. Meditation helps me to find answers to mind blowing problems. I think that is better way to live my life. I am an ordinary human being, and I want my bread shelter and some peace of mind. That is my wish for life.
