Free .. or Piracy?

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

One of my friend love free stuff. May who wouldn’t? I think that is part of human nature. Free things come free of charge. However we have to pay for commercial products. My friend, as said before like to have commercial products too, come free of cost. That is the main problem. To get them illegally is Piracy.

Yes, Piracy is the main problem of music, video, and software industries. Of course there is Open source software and creative commons music and videos. But, they didn’t appeal too much. I must confess, though I use Open office, it did not match MS office in certain areas, especially in looks. Same is the case with music. God knows how many people were downloading creative commons music and how many scouting pirated sites for music and video.

Problem is everything associated with money. Most third world country people can’t afford commercial products, since they usually sold in dollar terms, which are hard to buy. Besides that sharing everything between friends is not a crime.

Personally I am against Piracy. It impoverishes the creative developers. I am using Linux on my PC and that is great alternative to windows XP pirated copy. I use FM radio to listen music, rather than downloading or copying music on internet.

No I am not advertising for anyone. But I am searching for integrity of my soul. I want to keep my surroundings clean. I want to keep high Morals rather than going for pirated software and music. Yes, pirated ones give immense joy, but that is not good for us and to our society. Whenever possible, I try to use open source software. This way I can cleanse my mind craving for free stuff. I think that’s the only way.
