For our Eyes !!
Our eyes are the most important of all sensory organs. Eyes not only help us to see things, but also help us store information about different subjects we see. Such as dimensions, color, materials etc; This information is later used to identify them quickly. In a way eyes are primary source to keep memories in the brain.
As we progress in age our eyes get blur because of weakness of optic nerves. We need to wear spectacles then for clear vision. Doctors suggest vitamin A pills and eating carrots often. But taking too much vitamin A supplement is not good alternative since at high levels it is carcinogenic.
To strengthen the optic nerve we need to exercise the eyes. Take a couple of minutes daily and sit comfortably or lay down. Close your eyes. Make circles, triangles and so on, with your eyes for a while. My favorite is drawing 8 with closed eyes for at least 5 minutes daily. This may seems silly and easy. But in practice it is more difficult.
These exercises give the optic nerves much needed strength. Practicing this for a month will improve the clear vision.
Having good memory is associated with good eye sight. Of course that does not mean blind persons have weak memories. Our brain is structured in such way to remember things we see often. That is why ‘ to see is worth 10 times reading’ is correct.
Do not discourage blind people. Help them if you can by donating Eyes.
