Iron & Brain.

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

Our brain is one of the most important organs in the body. This is a known fact that our brain needs more Oxygen to function properly than our body. Those, whose brains are more active, probably consume more Oxygen.

Iron deficiency in the body, make us anemic and consequently our brain lacks vigor due to less supply of oxygen. We feel lazy and usually tend to procrastinate.

Iron deficiency can be avoided consuming more green and leafy vegetables and taking homeopathy medicines. Ferrom Phos in homeopathic medicines is good to start with. Taking iron supplements indiscriminately is, however, not advised as it generates later health complications. Always consult doctors and medical experts before starting any medication.

Also doing Pranayama, a yogic practice, helps to improve oxygen supply to brain. Strong brain helps concentration and memory.

Do not give over emphasis to build muscle power, try to enhance brain power. We desperately need that !!.

Remember THAT ??!!

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

Gone by days could not come back. But the memories of days passed stay alive for some time. Our brain is really great. It can store all the events happened in our life. I remember my childhood days and events often.

Not only us, human beings, all the other creatures had this memory. Small ants to big whales, remember the way perfectly. A species of Tortoise remember its birth place for so many years, so that it can come back to that place to lay its eggs.

Really, memory is a marvel. It grows enormously when we use it often. Memory depletes slowly, if we are under stress and do routine acts daily which require no memorization. Memory is required not only to achieve pinnacles in academic studies but also to perform daily activities. I know how many times I forgot where I left my cell phone and keys.

Memory improves by association. By linking different happenings and events, we can remember easily. Vitamin C supplement can enhance the retentive power of brain. Green vegetables not only healthy but also improve brain function.

O.. My God..

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

I usually spend the weekends Watching TV shows. In the early morning TV stations start with sermons and prayers in our local language. This was followed by religious discourses. Yes, I believe in the almighty God as all other average men do. Discourses enlighten our minds on unknown areas of religion. They help build a moral character.

I pray regularly once in a day. I seek God’s blessings in all activities for that day. Yes, I may seem to be selfish and conservative. But the fact is, I see the God in all my activities. Whether, it pays or not. To me, a common man, work is like God. Because, without work , I can’t get remuneration. I know, this is same with lot of others too.  Those who work hard in their jobs see the God in the Work. Otherwise we won’t succeed in life.

We all require divine intervention only when we are in deep troubles. This is quiet natural. But remembering the almighty God, before starting all ventures is a good idea. After all we all are HIS beautiful creation.

Seek solace in the God. Pray to him quiet often. We can’t achieve anything without HIS blessings and HARD WORK.

Books are my Friends.

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

I am on a vacation during the last week. I must confess I really felt boring. Then I came across an advert about a Book exhibition. Since I am a book lover I planned my time to visit the exhibition. Books are my true companions. Be it on vacation, out for warm sunbath, or lonely train journey, books help us to pass the time.

Books are really mines of knowledge. Books, opens new paths in our thinking. Even in this computer age books are selling in good volumes. Big book fairs likes Frankfurt-Germany and London, etc. proves this fact. Lots of book lovers visit these book fairs. Sale of books online is really a convenient method to get our favorite copy.

Reading is a good habit. Reading makes neurons in brain more active, so that our brain can be active always. Constant reading not only provides knowledge but also improves our understanding of the topics we do not know much. Besides that, our vocabulary improves a lot.

My favorite books are on the Buddhism, Yoga, Zen, and on psychology. I like fiction too.

Make book reading as a habit. Good books are really Good friends. Give books as Gifts.

Real[ity] Shows!!

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

Reality shows are the order of the day. All television channels across the globe, hosting a Reality show, to pull as much viewers as possible. [TV stations do this to get advertisement income].

Everybody knows well, that these reality shows are not at all real stories. They are concocted. The scenes, the plots, and the situations are meant for entertainment, and intended to attract large viewer base. Sometimes vulgar and sobbing scenes. We all know how Big Boss show fared. Some says, plotting controversies is a plan to attract large viewers.

We, the television bugs watch whatever show aimed at us. We believe in gossips, we blindly think reality show relationships fructify in real life. Human beings we are, and so always want to peep in to, what’s going on in other’s life. That is part of our instinct and natural curiosity. Television reality shows cash this sort of mentality to pull us and glue our eyes to the idiot box.

Experiencing the economic hardship due to job loss, piling mortgage costs, and increasing cost of living, naturally make us seek solace in home couch and watch the box. Reality shows may give us some relief but they impact our true conscience. Because, unreal reality shows plot wrong seeds.

Do not think the reality shows show a solution to our problems. We rather end up watching up TV every night until late night, to wake up late in the morning. Use good senses, discriminate what is good and bad, especially for you. Think positively. Use entertainment channels for entertainment. Do not believe the show content portraying real situation.

For our Eyes !!

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

Our eyes are the most important of all sensory organs. Eyes not only help us to see things, but also help us store information about different subjects we see. Such as dimensions, color, materials etc; This information is later used to identify them quickly. In a way eyes are primary source to keep memories in the brain.

As we progress in age our eyes get blur because of weakness of optic nerves. We need to wear spectacles then for clear vision. Doctors suggest vitamin A pills and eating carrots often. But taking too much vitamin A supplement is not good alternative since at high levels it is carcinogenic.

To strengthen the optic nerve we need to exercise the eyes. Take a couple of minutes daily and sit comfortably or lay down. Close your eyes. Make circles, triangles and so on, with your eyes for a while. My favorite is drawing 8 with closed eyes for at least 5 minutes daily. This may seems silly and easy. But in practice it is more difficult.
These exercises give the optic nerves much needed strength. Practicing this for a month will improve the clear vision.

Having good memory is associated with good eye sight. Of course that does not mean blind persons have weak memories. Our brain is structured in such way to remember things we see often. That is why ‘ to see is worth 10 times reading’ is correct.

Do not discourage blind people. Help them if you can by donating Eyes.

Food for thought?

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

Yes! Our thoughts largely depend on our food habits. Vegetarian food is Satvic [calm] in nature and so vegetarian’s thoughts would be calm. Thoughts of meat eaters are like destructive nature, because meat is often characterized as Tamasic or destructive. So, regular meat eating promotes unholy thought patterns, which are uncontrollable and over powers the human being.

See the calm and composed deer, antelopes and elephants. They rarely go berserk. See the Tigers and Lions etc; their nature is ferocious and cruel.

Food habits largely depend on customs and traditions. But today there were lesser and lesser vegetarians than before, in any part of the world. This may be due to cheap availability of meat and growth in meat processing and export.

I want clear and peaceful thoughts. Besides that Mother Nature provides all vitamins and proteins in vegetables in optimum and required quantity. So, I am going vegetarian way.

Experiment with vegetables. They are good for good thoughts.

Free .. or Piracy?

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

One of my friend love free stuff. May who wouldn’t? I think that is part of human nature. Free things come free of charge. However we have to pay for commercial products. My friend, as said before like to have commercial products too, come free of cost. That is the main problem. To get them illegally is Piracy.

Yes, Piracy is the main problem of music, video, and software industries. Of course there is Open source software and creative commons music and videos. But, they didn’t appeal too much. I must confess, though I use Open office, it did not match MS office in certain areas, especially in looks. Same is the case with music. God knows how many people were downloading creative commons music and how many scouting pirated sites for music and video.

Problem is everything associated with money. Most third world country people can’t afford commercial products, since they usually sold in dollar terms, which are hard to buy. Besides that sharing everything between friends is not a crime.

Personally I am against Piracy. It impoverishes the creative developers. I am using Linux on my PC and that is great alternative to windows XP pirated copy. I use FM radio to listen music, rather than downloading or copying music on internet.

No I am not advertising for anyone. But I am searching for integrity of my soul. I want to keep my surroundings clean. I want to keep high Morals rather than going for pirated software and music. Yes, pirated ones give immense joy, but that is not good for us and to our society. Whenever possible, I try to use open source software. This way I can cleanse my mind craving for free stuff. I think that’s the only way.

Life..Hurdles???

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

‘Life is always filled with hurdles’ says my father and advised ‘we must be strong enough to overcome those hurdles’. May be his opinion is true to some extent. But I think hurdles are manmade. They are not imposed by anyone. If I want to run 100 meters sprint event, which is most difficult for me, because I am not a well trained athlete.

Problem is we do things we are not supposed to do. That is our nature. But the Mother Nature has already decided the things for us. See successful Doctor, or a professional bike builder. I can’t do what they are doing. Not because I did not have necessary qualifications, but I do not have the ingenuity. I can do what I am passionate about.

Most successful people, as I observed and know, got success in life due to the fact that they listen to their heart. They become successful because they followed their passion, not imitating others. When we do things in our own way we do not see hurdles as hindrances. We welcome them because they make us strong as businessmen, professionals etc.

Be it employment or profession, we must select one that suits our strengths and passion. Since someone earning handful money due to that profession, is not our motivation. May be he or she suits there well and we fail.

Listen to your heart when choosing something. Make your own way, though it is difficult at first, but that pays you enormous dividends. Blindly imitating others make us copycats.

My weight concerns…

Published by koyyalagunta under Uncategorized Edit This

My waist line is becoming thick by about an inch or so. Though I am not obese, I am 3kgs over weight. Our physio said changing diet is not the solution and suggested physical exercise .Problem is, I have less physical work. Actually I wish to go jogging or to gym, but I have no time.

Our body needs physical work. Muscles have a tendency to grow when we exercise and deplete when we stop physical activity. These days most of the people are choosing professions that require less physical activity. Of course, the desk jobs too, consume energy, but they could not provide much physical work. Proper exercise is the key to digestion and therefore to good health. Gut becomes slow when we do no physical work at all, but eat lot of food.

Practicing Yoga asana or Yoga postures every day, helps to tone the body perfectly. Yoga postures seems simple but difficult to practice. With proper guidance one can easily do yoga asana. Some postures even consume more energy and help to reduce body weight. Remember Over weight causes Cardiac and Cancer problems.

Some people go to gym and practice vigorously to build muscles. But I have doubts over the methods suggested by trainers. Building pack of abs is not my choice. I want toned body that is simple, and yoga is best way to follow, considering my time constraints. Yoga also helps to develop concentration, which I require most.

Try to do some physical activity at the weekends at least. That helps you physically and promotes well being.
